Telangana government websites will be offline for 48 hours

For 48 hours, starting at 9 p.m. on July 9, all Telangana government websites and online services will be taken offline. According to the state government, the Telangana State Data Center (SDC) has scheduled a scheduled maintenance activity to install an improved power backup system. Websites and online services will be restored on July 11 at 9 p.m.

According to a press release from the IT Department, the new upgraded UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) facility has become the need of the hour to ensure uninterrupted service continuity for the Telangana government and the public at long term. “The existing inverter at the state data center has grown old and the current standby mechanism is unable to operate for a long time during blackouts / power fluctuations,” the statement said.

The State Data Center (SDC) located at the TSIIC center in Gachibowli, Hyderabad was built in 2010 and commissioned in 2011. In the data center, various government departments hosted their applications. “The State Data Center – Information Technology Infrastructure is the heart of the state for providing services to G2C and G2G and the availability of services is one of the key and most important parameters for daily IT operations,” said said the press remark read.
