The Fuorisalone Award is both the physical prize, made in 3D printing, and the associated NFT. The three-dimensional representation of the complex data relating to Fuorisalone.it was created by mauro martinodigital artist, principal investigator at MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab (Cambridge, MAUNITED STATES). mauro martino has created a “network sculpture”, an abstract mathematical construction, a synthesis of the processing of both physical and digital data collected via the Fuorisalone web platform. The result is a digital diagram composed of nodes (point objects) and connections (one-dimensional lines) that has been translated into an organic three-dimensional physical object.
The immersive installation consists of a series of stacked panels combined to form a passable tunnel. When developing Rock.01, Arsham was inspired to create split layers to give guests the ability to move around the sink. Each panel refers to a single plane of the 3D printed clay that overlaps to form the sink. 3D printing is an additive construction process; on the other hand, the tunnel reveals the subtraction by removing portions to make room for the volume that the visitor can pass through.
