JPX launches website with ESG information on TSE-listed companies

JPX’s I&D subsidiary has launched a new website called “JPX Listed Company ESG Information WEB (Beta Version)” in collaboration with DATAZORA, a company that collects and disseminates a wide range of data on listed companies, including their IR information .

,JPX Market Innovation & Research, Inc. (JPXI) initially launched a beta version to gather feedback from listed companies, investors and other market participants regarding the usefulness of the website.

The recently launched portal offers a list of links to ESG-related information disclosed by companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) on their websites, including ESG-related news as well as reports containing ESG information, such as integrated reports, CSR reports, environmental reports and sustainability reports. The links are collected by DATAZORA.

JPX taps DATAZORA to help TSE-listed companies communicate ESG information

This move aims to help listed companies communicate their ESG-related information to a wider range of investors and shareholders without increasing their IR workload. Also, it should make every company’s website more accessible to investors and shareholders and ease the burden of information gathering for them.

The website displays ESG-related news and reports containing ESG information disclosed on each company’s website over the past 90 days.

DATAZORA offers additional paid services, including an API allowing users to automatically obtain information equivalent to that posted on the aforementioned site launched by JPXI. The service covers all TSE-listed companies and delivers approximately 50,000 articles per month.

The ESG Data Platform also offers non-financial data extracted from reports containing ESG information published by listed companies and from sustainability-related web pages on listed company websites, in a CSV file format. It covers approximately 850 TSE-listed companies. 2019 data is available.

JPX has launched the “quant” API for retail investors

The J-Quants API is an API distribution service for retail investors, which distributes historical stock prices and company financial data via API.

From April to the end of May, the beta service had been offered to the first users chosen by lottery, but now the general launch will bring the beta version of the J-Quants API to all customers. The launch of the full-fledged service is yet to be disclosed.

The API product was developed by JPXI, the division of the exchange that provides an environment to promote trading using computing and data analytics for people interested in data science through the “J-Quants” project. .

In Japan, retail investors do not have easy access to raw financial data. JPX Group seeks to solve this problem. Last year, an environment was launched through the J-Quants project, which allowed retail investors to learn more about investment analysis using data, providing financial data that professionals use, such as historical stock prices and company financial data, as well as analytical methods for this data.

JPX has started providing financial data through the API, including stock price and company financial data. The initiative was considered a success and the company received many requests to expand the service. This led to the launch of the beta, which for two months was limited to early adopters and is now open to general users.
