Active Aging and Community Care and Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo signed an agreement for the provision of a property with a warehouse and the loan of equipment to the sick and elderly in Gozo.
Free rental equipment includes the use of beds, crutches, wheelchairs, and lifts, which are normally purchased as part of fundraising activities.
During a visit to the property, Minister for Seniors Michael Farrugia and Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said that after several dialogues between AACC and FSEG, the need for collaboration has arisen, for services for the elderly and the sick in Gozo. also include the loan of equipment.
The service provided is exceptional and will help the elderly and the sick to continue living in the community with their loved ones, while using the necessary equipment, said Minister Farrugia. He also mentioned how hundreds of people have already been helped through this aid.
In addition to the services already provided by AACC in Gozo, this equipment will also help the elderly in their daily life to continue living in the community.
Minister Farrugia also mentioned that the government is working on a center with similar services in Malta to add to the services already offered.
For his part, Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri said this is a necessary service for Gozitans and the ministry will financially assist FSEG to purchase much needed equipment.
