Amazon Web Services is revamping its AWS Partner Training Program to make it easier for customers to engage with one partner for all of their training needs.

AWS Partner Network (ATP) training partners are now able to offer, deliver and / or resell both AWS classroom training and AWS digital training.

In the structure of the previous AWS training program, three elements worked separately. ATPs have been authorized to deliver classroom and virtual classroom training based on AWS training courses through AWS Approved Instructors. Digital training partners like Pluralsight took advantage of the AWS content they offered on their training platform. And resellers were reselling training from other AWS trainers to their customers.

AWS training and certification simplified the program, combining all three offerings into one, in response to customer feedback on how they want to engage partners to receive training, according to AWS Channel Manager Doug Yeum. Customers often choose multiple delivery options to meet their training needs, which can lead to a difficult purchasing process, according to AWS, and customers need partners who understand their unique purchasing needs.

The revamped curriculum will give AWS training partners choice and flexibility in indirect and direct content delivery and AWS training formats. It will also help them continue to grow their AWS business around training and certification. In the past, Yeum said, systems integrators like Accenture and Deloitte had a harder time reselling and providing training.

AWS will validate training partners at two levels – AWS Advanced – Training and AWS Select – Training – each with their own set of requirements based on employee skills, scope, and a partner’s business model.
