A site to generate jobs for an LGBT group

LUCKNOW: Getting a decent job would no longer be a struggle for people belonging to the LGBT community (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). Thanks to Yadavendra Singh Darvesh, Awadh Queer Pride community member and social activist who has developed a one-of-a-kind website to connect them with employers.

Darvesh, who is a web designer himself, said the website would not only bridge the gap between employers and talented people in the LGBT community, but also showcase their talent in a way that helps them find their way. find a job. “The website www.queerlancers.in deals with different feeds including digital marketing, graphic design, makeup and hairstyle, photography, lifestyle, dance, etc. For example, if a member of our group wants to opt for a job as a makeup artist, they can select the makeup artist section and upload their profile, biodata, professional experience and images. It will be a kind of portfolio, which we will present more on social media and other platforms to ensure that the candidate gets a decent job. We do it for free, ”Darvesh said.

He said the goal behind the move was to create jobs for members of the LGBT community. He said that initially they only offered freelance jobs, but in later phases they would also offer full-time job opportunities. In just two days of launch, it received more than 80 requests from people not only from UP but also from other states, he said.
