The right to free speech

Sure free speech is a right, but who knew it could also be so embarrassing!  Located at the exit of the Masher Museum’s newest exhibition, “Lines of Attack: Conflicts in Caricature,” the Free Speech Booth is both a fun and slightly awkward experience for visitors.  While we all love to talk, it’s an entirely different experience to watch yourself on a screen as you carry on a conversation with the webcam in front of you.  Self-consciousness takes over and you spend more time fixing you hair and repeating “um” over and over again while you think of that brilliant something you know you want to say to the to the vast Youtube.com audience that will eventually view your video.  Nevertheless, when you’ve breathed that sigh of relief as your 60 seconds concludes, excitement takes hold because you’ve just  put yourself out there and let cyber viewers know exactly what you thought of the exhibition. Don’t believe me? Then I suggest you stop by the museum, walk through the exhibit and try the Free Speech Booth for yourself!

Sounds like a cool exhibit! This lovely Duke student is certainly a testament to the interest of this exhibit to youth. But, how does this technically work. The webcam is also able to videorecord and then that is immediately posted on youtube? How interesting!
